How The League Runs.
The essentials that keep TPA competitive, fair, and fun. Rules are summarized here and may be updated by league staff each season.
01 · Eligibility
- All players must be 18 years of age or older.
- Every player must be registered on their team's official roster before participating in a game.
- Completion of the league waiver is required during player registration.
- Each team must have a minimum of 8 players and may roster a maximum of 12 players.
02 · Substitute Players
- Teams are allowed up to three (3) substitute player additions during the season if they are unable to field the required five players on game day.
- Any substitute player who is not already listed on the team's official roster is subject to a $25 player registration fee.
03 · Game Format
- Games are played 5-on-5 using standard NFHS (High School) basketball rules, unless otherwise noted by the league.
- Each game consists of two 20-minute halves.
- Games are scheduled to fit each division's weekly league night — the Invite Division plays Tuesdays and the Open Division plays Wednesdays — and are officiated by league-assigned referees.
04 · Clock & Overtime
The game clock runs continuously except during:
- Team timeouts
- Official stoppages
- The final 2 minutes of the second half when the score difference is 9 points or fewer.
If the score is tied at the end of regulation, a 2-minute overtime period will be played. Additional overtime periods continue until a winner is determined.
05 · Fouls & Free Throws
- Teams enter the bonus after 7 team fouls in a half.
- Teams enter the double bonus after 10 team fouls in a half.
- A player is disqualified after accumulating five personal fouls, or receiving a second technical foul.
- A player assessed a technical foul must sit out for 5 game minutes before becoming eligible to re-enter the game.
06 · Forfeits
- Teams must have at least five eligible players present at game time.
- Teams unable to meet this requirement will forfeit the game.
- Forfeited games are recorded as a 20–0 loss.
- A $120 forfeit fee will be assessed to the forfeiting team.
07 · Conduct & Sportsmanship
Respect for opponents, teammates, officials, and spectators is expected at all times. The league maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward:
- Fighting
- Flagrant fouls
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Verbal or physical abuse directed at officials, players, or spectators
Violations may result in immediate ejection, suspension, additional disciplinary action, or removal from the league.
08 · Standings & Tiebreakers
Regular-season standings are determined by overall win–loss record. If two or more teams finish with identical records, tiebreakers are applied in the following order:
- Head-to-head record
- Overall point differential
09 · Playoffs
The top eight (8) teams at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the playoffs. The postseason features a single-elimination bracket, with winners advancing until a league champion is crowned.

Absolutely. Sign up individually and we'll match you with a team that needs your position and skill level before the season tips off.
All games are hosted at St. Sophia Greek Cathedral in the heart of Koreatown, Los Angeles, between 7:00 and 10:00 PM. The Invite Division plays on Tuesday evenings and the Open Division plays on Wednesday evenings.
Both the Open and Invite divisions field nine teams. During the regular season, every team plays each of the others once, and the top eight then advance to the playoffs. From opening night through the championship, a full season runs approximately two and a half months.
The top 8 teams from the standings qualify for playoffs, culminating in a championship game to crown the season's champion.

Games receive photography and highlight coverage, and select matchups are streamed live for players, families, and fans.
